2024 in Review:

  • Hiring of our newest research technician, Abby Taylor!

 

2023 in Review:

  • Second R01 submitted to NIDDK! Go Science!

  • Addition of a new research Technician, Kayla Huter!

  • While we are sad to see Meredith leave for Medical School and Kassandra depart for Graduate School, we are happy to announce Kayla Huter, a recent Purdue graduate (Go Boilermakers!), has joined the lab as a Research Technician!

  • The lab's 2nd research paper was published in Diabetes!  https://doi.org/10.2337/db22-0939 

  • Kassandra Sandoval joined the lab as a Research Technician!

2022 in Review:

  • Congratulations to Dr. Rebecca Davidson on the successful defense of her dissertation!

  • The lab is now funded by our 1st R01!! (DK129287)

  • Meredith Osmulski joined the lab as a Research Technician!

  • Becca's 1st author manuscript published in the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology! https://doi.org/10.1530/JME-22-0011

  • Fundable score for Dr. Spaeth's R01-A1!

2021 in Review:

  • Dr. Spaeth submitted his R01A1 to NIDDK

  • Becca's F31 to NIDDK is funded!!

  • Dr. Spaeth received a grant from the Showalter Trust Foundation

 

2020 in Review:

  • Dr. Spaeth received funding for his R03 from the NIDDK

  • Review in Endocrinology authored by Becca and Suki has been published!  https://doi.org/10.1210/endocr/bqaa213

  • Dr. Spaeth received a Biomedical Research Grant award from the IU School of Medicine CTSI

  • Dr. Spaeth received a Pilot and Feasibility grant from IUSM-Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases!

  • Suki has officially joined the lab!!

 

2019 in Review:

  • We are extremely excited to announce that Becca has joined the lab!

  • STEM student Elise Hogarth joined the lab for the summer!

  • Dr. Spaeth's paper on the role of the Swi/Snf chromatin remodeling complex in pancreas formation and adult β cell function was accepted for publication in Diabetes! https://doi.org/10.2337/db19-0349

  • Started the lab in January 2019 and recruited lab technician Nolan Casey!

Spaeth Lab Focus Statement:

Examine how Pdx1-interacting coregulators influence transcription factor function in the developing pancreas, endocrine progenitor cells and mature islet β cells.
